Welcome to our In Vitro Fertilization Tour. At Pacific Fertility Center our goal is to guide you through a successful cycle of IVF treatment, and to assist with the emotional ups and downs which are an inevitable part of the IVF treatment process. Toward those goals, we have a dedicated staff of Reproductive Endocrinologists, PhDs, and RNs, administrative and ancillary staff all committed to providing the finest possible medical care and high pregnancy outcomes using the newest and best IVF treatment techniques available to help you conceive at our IVF center. Equally important is that you feel cared for, with your needs recognized and met by our fertility center's staff. What is in vitro fertilization (IVF)?
Literally it means "fertilization in glass". IVF treatment is comprised of several basic steps: the woman is given fertility drugs that stimulate her ovaries to produce a number of mature eggs; at the proper time, the eggs are retrieved by suction through a needle that has been inserted into her ovaries; the eggs are fertilized in a Petri dish in the laboratory with her partner's or donor sperm; and subsequently the embryos are transferred into the uterus.
Our IVF Tour has been developed to help you understand the basic process of moving through a full "cycle" of IVF treatment from pre-cycle preparation to pregnancy testing and beyond.
